Bottecchia frame on its way
Just snagged this on the local cl:

Last summer I noticed what appeared to be a crack on the bb shell of my current Bottecchia Pro/Giro. Stripped the paint and just couldn't tell for sure. Painted back over it and now the apparent crack is back. So the new frame, which is in nicer shape anyway, will get the gruppo from the old, and I'll likely retire the old one or see if a cheap repair is available.

That new frame looks great! Love those really fancy lugs and the paint looks very nice to. Just my opinion, but I'd go with gumwall tires on a bike of this vintage. They looks so classic. Watch that stem though, it looks dangerously high!
Good luck!
Good luck!

Thanks! The stem is a Nitto Technomic and it's not quite at Max height. When I build the new frame up I'll be using a different set of wheels that will have higher quality/better looking tires.
I have to say the current Bottecchia has a sweet ride quality and expect the next one to be the same.
