DIY fork stabilizer? (the kind for having a front rack)
I was looking into getting that VO fork stabilzer thing but I may be able to DIY this thing. I'm thinking of going to the hardware store and getting one of those springs with a hook on each end. Does anyone know what those are called? And do you think it'll work if I attach it to this? Pix included

I've seen someone make their own using a spring. One end was hooked to a metal tab behind the front fender bolt and the other end was hooked around the bolt on the downtube cable stops. That sounds like what you are suggesting. I didn't get a chance to ask how well it worked. I've heard those types of springs called tension or extension springs.
