This is my third GJ. It was only missing the seat. I put 700c on it but the OG rigida/Normandy wheels should spin well when I get to them and buy some folding pro-tites.

Can you measure you Top Tube CTC and the stand over height for me? I have a 23" size and the top tube is 57 CTC which is generally perfect for me I'm just wondering if I could make a 25" into a more appropriate Randonneur.

Collected this 1975 a few weeks ago. Replacement rear wheel, look like it came off a Mirage. Otherwise original. It’s in the queue for 700c’s and a tidy up. If my wife doesn’t enjoy it it’ll be a guest bike.

74 Grand Jubile
After several false starts, I am finally turning my attention to my '74 Grand Jubile. I have had the frame for over 20 years and have built it up a couple of times, only to get it back down to the frame once again. This time, I am using mostly original spec parts such as the Huret Jubilee derailleurs and shifters, Pivo stem and bars, and the Stronglight 49D crank. I am using some items from my parts bin to hop it up just a little (Campy sidepulls, needed a drop bolt for the rear, Campy seat post, red (now really mostly faded) OMAS headset, a set of Atom 700 pedals from a Grand Record, and a TA bottom bracket). I am planning to build a set of tubulars, using high flange Normandy Luxe Comp hubs and Super Champion Arc-En-Ciel rims.
I have a lot of nostalgia around this bike. When I was in college in the mid 70s, I saw someone with one of these, nearly brand new. He had added a set of Weinmann Carrera sidepulls as I recall, but I remember thinking this was the most beautiful bike I had ever seen. Even now, this is perhaps my favorite paint scheme on any of my bikes.... The paint on this one is a bit tattered but still holds a luminous quality...

Thanks! I have a large number of Motos as well - a '72 Le Champion, a '75 Le Champion, a '73 Super Champion, a '75 Team Champion, a '73 Grand Record, a '74 Grand Record, and this '74 Grand Jubile. My process for polishing usually consists of 0000 steel wool, followed by Simichrome and buffing, then hand buffing with more Simichrome. Big fan of Simichrome....

Here's some before photos and a "during" photo of an '82 Grand Jubile I picked up a couple months ago. After photos are still a ways away. Getting our first days over here that are nice enough to do some bike washing. Stripped off the consumables and gave this thing its 1st bath of many. Still lots of decreasing and chrome cleaning to come, but I can tell it's going to look pretty good when I'm done. More photos soon.

This one has gotten around. I found it by the curb in FL after Hurricane Ian. It has a shop sticker from NJ. Here it is at Glacier NP. I sold it later in the trip in Portland to a guy who had his Grand Record stolen. Hope he is enjoying it.

I finally got this bike basically finished! I have a couple minor details to attend to...things like figuring out why there's so much shudder in the front brake (might be the NOS Weinmann pads, might need the pads toed in, might be an issue with the rim), and possibly adding a bottle cage.
It's hard to see in the outdoor pictures, but the bar tape has a red layer that shows through the perforations in the synthetic suede.
Also, the old tires that I took off were a bit undersized (27x1-1/4" tires measured at 27mm), and the modern ones of the same nominal size (Kenda Kwick Tendril Sport) measure almost exactly 32mm. This meant that the tire/fender clearance was quite tight, so I had to get a little bit creative to get every bit of clearance I could at the fork crown. I suppose I could go with narrower tires, but 28s feel skinny to me, and I end up feeling like I have to be conscious of every crack/bump in the road. More likely, I'll eventually convert to 700C.
