If you are wondering just build one. I like them, but my town is too hilly for a single gear for me. My knees start hurting after about a week of riding a one geared bike. I've settled on a 3 speed fixed and a 2 speed SS for my simple bikes.

What's a 2 speed SS?
Whoops. 2 speed Bendix manual.

I built one from a $25 frame and spare parts. I rode it once around the block. It's been taking up precious garage space and gathering spider webs ever since. I'd probably give it away if someone asked me nicely. It's not my size anyway. I'd take of the 1st genaration Dura Ace brakes first, of course.

I love this bike, have since you built it (granted I may not have such a high opinion if I rode it) don't tempt me ...
