Restoration of a bottle cage

Okay, maybe resurrection is a better word for it.

I have my wifes old bottle cage off her bike from when she was a kid and it was trashed, I mean a badly bent, rusty mess so last night I decided to play with it a bit.

I'm kicking myself for not taking before shots but I thought I had a better picture from when it was on her bike, not.

This is the best "before" shot, sorry.

Here it is as of this morning, I might work on it a little more but I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out so far.

Nice! I like that is has a little spring-loaded clamp to keep the bottle from self-ejecting.

The bands and clamp in front actually straighten out pretty well when a bottle is clamped in and it holds the bottle really well.

I was thinking about using it myself but I think it'll go in to storage until I restore the little Takara for my youngest daughter, it should fit her in a couple years so I'm in no rush.
