Please help identify this old Dawes?
Hello there
I have bought this rather scruffy Dawes on impulse, and know it's probably worthless but I was charmed by the colour. Does anybody have an idea what model or date it is? I'm guessing 80s/90s by the newer headbadge. It has Simplex gears, Sachs Huret derailleurs, an SR stem, 700c wheels, and a Sturmey Archer seat post...who knows what is original though! I quite like the original Dawes crankarms. The wheel rim on the front is intriguing since it has a raised pattern, supposedly to show wear, of which there is little.
Thanks in advance for looking!

Bikes: Giant Excursion, Raleigh Sports, Raleigh R.S.W. Compact, Motobecane? and about 20 more! OMG
Early to mid 80's would be my best guess. Hard to say which model, built for the UK market with that head lamp bracket on there. Is that front rim alloy or steel? Sometimes a pattern like that was put on there to improve braking in the wet, first time I have seen that specific pattern though. The English built Dawes are decent bikes, and usually are undervalued.
