If that is the bike I think it is, the paint is original. With that said, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures worth speaking of.

Yes it is original. The owner is Dale Brown, who also owns Cycles d'Oro in Greensboro, NC and is the Classic Rendezvous Listmeister. He was a pretty fair frame builder as well, back in the day.

Had you brought the Hetchins, there was only one other Non-American bike there. Hetchins always get a lot of attention at shows so it probably would have taken the category. I'd really love to see that bike one day.

There were a ton of bicycles once you got past the late 60's. Definitely a great time and tons of great bikes.
Are the results posted somewhere? I was too busy talking to friends to pay attention to the prize announcements. I brought 2 bikes with me and if I am not mistaken the one entered in the 1968-1973 category won (there were something like 10 bikes in the category).

CdM, I do not believe the results were posted anywhere... I know that my Norman Rapide won Non-American 1950-1959, Harvey Sachs won 4 or 5 categories and Dan Artley's Bishop won Best in Show. What bikes did you enter in the competition? Maybe I'll remember... You brought a couple of Italian bikes along, correct? I guess that Wayne will eventually post them to the website.

If Dan Artley's Bishop was the one Chris B. had at NAHBS in Austin, I could easily see why.

The one in Austin was easily my favorite at NAHBS that year.

Was it, perchance, the one in this picture?
