This frame is going in for powder coating soon. The seat and chain stays will remain black chrome and the rest will be orange. Since the rest of the bike is silver chrome, I've been thinking about leaving a section t\of the top tube un-coated in a fashion similar to the bike below. In fact this is where I got my Idea. What do you think?

Bikes: '09 Felt F55, '84 Masi Cran Criterium, (2)'86 Schwinn Pelotons, '86 Look Equippe Hinault, '09 Globe Live 3 (dogtaxi), '94 Greg Lemond, '99 GT Pulse Kinesis

I vote no, unless you're planning to make this a front-brake-only fixie like the bike in the second photo.
That chrome patch is intended to be a spot where the handlebar can safely hit the top tube without chipping the paint.

What shade of orange do you have picked? I've got a motorcycle that is a nice bourbony amber metallic orange.

I would skip the top tube chrome, and maybe leave the bottom third of the forks in chrome.

unless you're already planning on a full chrome fork, then ignore what I said...
