24 pounds is light. My bike is 28 pounds and I can climb mountains because the gearing is low enough.

The only place the Klein (and only if it is a nice one) will be better is sprinting over 50km/h on the flat and throwing it around in the red on hills for the 30 seconds max that your body can handle.

Kleins are damn sexy bikes though, one of my wishes for the future. If you LIKE it more, get it. It doesn't have to be quantifiable.

Get expensive tires, brake pads, new cables, bar tape, chain, service it all. That will make more of a difference.

what tires in good and is better 700 25c than tires 700 23c? I have heavy steel road bike too is weight around 28 pounds. What size crank and cassete you use in your bike for hills. I have on my bike 53/39 and 9 speeds cassete 12-25. in flats i do okay but in one some steep hill i had to walk little. The 25 cog felt hard to pedal with the 39 ring. I not do race you think is be okay if i try cassete 12-30 or 13-29 0r 11-28?
