Update:

The Masi was passed along to a new owner late yesterday afternoon.

I may finally be about a day or so away from confirming my new house. Seemed the right time to pass her along to someone who will surely get on the ball and do a proper restoration more quickly than I've managed to do!

It was a pleasure having been the temporary caretaker for nearly 3 years, but she's gone on to a deserving third owner who will one day return her to her former glory.

N-1 on the complete-bike front so far this year. Guess an old dog can learn new tricks :)

Congrats.

Hope the new house works well for you. :)

Fwiw I sold two beautiful bicycles and one frameset this week.

I have six additional framesets, four wheelsets and two shelves of parts to sell by April.

I have a beautiful c&v bicycle waiting for me. I don't want to jinx the sale by outing it yet.

Congrats on the new house, DD!

For me, it was the Harleys that I had to part with to fund a nearby house, had to go with a short-sale fixer and "bigger" than I would have otherwise chosen, just to get a decent per-sq-ft price in a "quiet" neighborhood, and with "bike basement" potential.
But it was a relief to finally have proper storage for all the bikes I had kept at my apartment.
LOL, today I spent hours working on fire fuel remediation and tending to my 2nd-hand gas and electric mower/trimmer "collection".
Ticks and chiggers, anyone?

Nice "before" photo (woodpeckers sure were busy):

But it's "after" that counts, right?:

Always a big step; congrats. You settling in the Puget Sound region, again? If so, don't be a stranger :)

Not much in common with DD's Masi Special and the pages you reference, other than the are Branded Masi and one is kind of close in color.

Thanks, guys. Tim, the place is in Sultan, so only about 20+ miles from Everett. I haven't moved far. Coming up on the end of my 12 month apartment lease, so I really and truly left it to the last possible minute!

Offer was countered and I accepted the new terms - now the only possible thing standing in the way is if the assessed value comes in low (as happened with my last house on Whidbey). Hopefully it will not come to that.

Bonus room will be my bike room - plus the garage has lots of bike-space, too.

Grady: Yeah, I get that - I've pretty much completed my bike-culling "first phase". Between the recent Bike Swap and the sale of the Masi (Bob Freeman is the new owner), I'm down to 9 complete bikes and the small '73 Colnago Super frame currently in bare metal. Perfectly manageable now that I have the extra room.

dddd: Wish I'd had options such as buying a short sale or similar, but using my VA loan limited my looking. They're pretty strict about what they'll lend on. Love your bike-dungeon :)
