Custom fabricated clamp-on downtube shifter bosses.
Made by a guy in Boise Idaho. Top quality stainless steel clamp (By Norma of Germany) and the welding job with the stainless bosses is really clean and professionally done, but it did cost me quite a bit of money to buy at eBay. I guess we alwyas have to pay for the best quality with most things.
I will be using this for my Peugeot PY10FC Project, which needs a slightly bigger than normal diameter clamp (29mm), because of the slightly over-sized CF tubes on the PY10FC frameset.
I am totally underwhelmend by the quality of the original simplex clamp-on bosses that originally came with the bike, and I grew tired of the long waiting I've been doing for a good exmple to come up to buy.......I just had to pull the trigger already, as this one was the last one the guy had for sale, and who knows when he will build more....

Took the plunge into the clipless world. We'll see how it goes. No issues on my very first ride today.

Been riding the Tommasini so much and at continually longer distances so it was the natural progression. Not sure why I resisted for so long.
Pretty neat looking. I went with a middling shoe to make sure clipless is for me. My next pair, knowing my buying habits, will likely be much more expensive...

I ride Looks as well, even on my fixed gear commuter. I have been acquiring a small stash of quill pedals though, in anticipation of converting some bikes back to clips and straps.

Went to the mailbox and found a nice surprise envelope with some patches.
Already got one sewn on...now I just have to find room for the others...
Here is the one that is sewn on..
if you are looking for some great patches, contact Walter (pamaguahiker on BF). He is a great guy and does beautiful work.

This, which I assembled for a friend. I'm delivering it in about 25 minutes.
The box was beat to death, caved in on one side. Only dmg, bent front QR skewer.
I rode it, with 10psi, then 25psi, then 50psi. Pretty much a fun ride.
I rode it down by the horses, though, and they took off immediately, wanted no part of it.
They generally could care less, just look for oats or apples or moldy carrots. Not this time.
She now has a nice alumicarbon roadie, this, and is dropping off her hybrid for a go-over. And she's pushing 60.

The first couple of rides generally aren't much to worry about. It's when you start getting comfortable with them that you'll forget to clip out.

Your patch goes well with the bike that I received today: a late 1940's Gerbi with cambio corsa. Gerbi was given the nickname "il diavolo rosso" which translates to the "red devil". It rides quite well even though I will need a slightly longer seatpost and the bend of the bars is rather unique...

I was going to try the Compass Barlow Pass 38's that I currently have however was told from Jitensa they would be too big. I put the Barlow's on the Weigle and will go with the 32 Stampede Pass which I believe is near the limit with fenders.
