I am going to attempt to lighten up a 1960s Schwinn Speedster. Starting with the bottom bracket:

3 inch drop axle for my 1950 F1.... This is with the first coat of flat black rustoleum drying. The may be two more. Still need to order the dropped tie rods, but I have mostly everything else.,,,,BD

Also got the 22 inch chrome badazzery that is a huge Mongoose ATB frame from wkr101. No pics yet. I was exhausted by the time I got it unpacked. The man knows how to pack a frame!

Wheels built by Earle Young for my Masi GC under construction. Guess I will have to get down to it now.

A new frame came in the mail.
Luckily I was home to intercept it before my wife saw it.
Hauled into the living room to unpack and check it out.

Later on, I got a text, "Hey what's with the Styrofoam in the living room.
What did you get in the mail."

Busted.
I think I might be at S-1.

Unpack outdoors or vacuum. A rookie mistake, but we all make them, lol. I just get things sent to work now, and I have an hour or two of unsupervised time before the lady gets home.,,,,BD

A few vintage Ray Bradbury paperbacks. Late 60's and early 70's.
I dig the cover art. And the stories.

A brand-new pair of VO Deep Half-Toe Clips. Disappointing, and will be "disposed of" at an opportune time (ditto the MKS "regular" Half-Toe Clips and the MKS Urban Platform pedals). Sigh.

A set of Ultegra 6500 brakes for my Paramount, which is now completely devoid of the original RX100 group, save for the headset. Not technically in the mail, but I also scored a nice set of barely used Sidi Dominator SPD shoes at a thrift store.

Accessorizing the Voyageur. Tubus Cosmo and Nova SS racks. Brooks B17. 6 piece Carradice bag set. That order was about triple what the bike cost... good accessories sure do add up!

Nice! Thanks for sharing those.

One of my favorite books is this, by graphic designer and publicist Piet Schreuders:

BTW, Schreuders is also the maker of a magazine called "De Poezenkrant" (The ***** Paper), that is being published irregularly since 1974, and is entirely about cats :

Thanks! Great stuff. Hugo Gernsback is one of my heroes. I actually named one of the rooms in our office after him.
