A catalog from CLC!
My next project will be an Annapolis Wherry for fishing on the Mississippi River and city lakes near our home in St. Paul/Minneapolis.
Looks to be a wonderful project.
Anyone need a road bike?

This guy (which reminds me, I need to update the thread since I've made changes to the bike): https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...r-Build-Thread
Not that I think the mobile bike shops that support Ragbrai have an obligation to stock the most obscure doo-dads to please my ego, but there are a lot of people riding old 3-speeds -- it wouldn't kill them to keep a couple of tubes on hand for one of the most common older sizes. /rant
P.S. And to bring this post on-topic, more neat things came in the mail recently. Stay tuned!

The model is made by Auto Art as part of their Signature Series line. They come in three versions, all from the 1975 European racing season. The Nurburgring winner (the version I have), the Francorchamps Spa entry, and the Monza winner. All cars are pretty much indentical under the paint and sponsor markings. The model is causing quite a buzz in the diecast collecting community as this model is pretty much the best to ever come out from the company and considered as quite a bargain even at its high price, as an equivalent quality model from other diecast companies can cost almost double this Auto Art model's price. "Toronto Motorsports" have them on sale presently (20% off). Their sale price is one of the lowest out there for the model right now. You can sometimes also buy them from sellers from Hongkong/China for even cheaper, but you run the risk of not being able to return those if any shipping damage occurs on its way from the east. Auto Art might also not honor any warranties if those Chinese sellers are not authorized dealers.
BTW, The 312PB will be really nice to dispaly near/next to this model. GMP had closed shop a couple of year ago already and prices for their models in the secondary market might start to go up soon, so try to get one asap while they are still resonably priced. Also, check out GMP's Ferrari P4 330s. One of the most beautiful diecast car models made in the last few years. It was one of GMP's final models before they had to dissolve the company due to some "bank problems".....

Chombi: I was wondering why the GMP Ferraris were at or over $300 - supply and demand, baby
My problem is choosing just one - I'm torn between the Targa winner and the Prova version without decals.
Auto Art makes some damned nice pieces. I had two of them at one time: their Jaguar XJ-13 and Gulf Porsche 917K. Both were fantastic, but I sold them back in the day to finance my ex's engagement ring!
And I get the part about possible damage. Right now, I'm negotiating with a French seller regarding damage to the inner box of a Model Factory Hiro Ferrari 312 T4 (Monaco version in 1:20 scale). He started off on the wrong foot by sending it two weeks after my payment cleared, then sent a damaged-box item - and no, the outer box wasn't damaged at all, which means he put it into the package that way. No mention in the auction, no mention after he apologized for getting it into the mail late. He has 9 others for sale, too; somehow, I don't think they all have damaged boxes...
I'll have to begin a search for the Alfa on Ebay. That's always been a favorite of mine; one of the very last, true manufacturer presences in the golden age of sportscar racing.

Not in the post per se, but from my wife's return from the US. 1986 105 biopace crankset, fd, aero levers. 1999 105 rd. 7 spd shimano cassette. All except the cassette will go to complete the 105 group on my 92 Paramount. Spoke wrenches, of a higher quality than I previously had. A nice haul.

Here's what came for me. Most recently, a set of spokes and nipples, and a brand-new Tiagra hub less recently, to build up a wheel using this swap meet Open Pro for my girlfriend's bike.
I hope it doesn't crack!

My latest set of ebay'd Eclipse panniers arrived. Found this in the inner lining:
There were 4 individually wrapped sticks left. Will accept trade offers. : )

I basically chucked the existing wheel into my truing stand and repeated the following 36 times:
- Remove spoke
- Install spoke
- True wheel
Consequently, it was not really possible to get the wheel more out-of-true than when I bought it (it was pretty close to start with).
Ignore the wacky fender line. There a number of other odds-n-ends to do on this garage sale find. The plan is to give to my nephew, a student at the University of Illinois.

Cane Creek 100 Classic threadless HS in silver.
not terribly C&V, but discontinued at least and somewhat traditional enough.

Two exciting new items came for me today.
The first arrived before the project bike it is intended for:
Sugino Mighty crank
I need to clean up the rings, but I think it is going to look pretty cool on my new ride, an early 70s Dawes Galaxy! I'll post pictures of the bike when I receive it.
I also received this book from England that I have been patiently waiting on for over a month.
It has pictures too!
I found a temporary use for my left arm
The previous owner added his emphatic opinion
I'll judge for myself.
This monograph set me back 35 quid almost the same as the crank.

I'm glad someone else appreciates this book. Very rare and a fascinating thesis!

I've actually had an interesting lecture on the transference of numismatic iconography between emperors, kings and other princelings way back in my freshman year, interesting stuff.

No pictures but I just got my "care" package from Dutch Bike Bits in the NL.
Couple of comfort saddles, nice solid Steco rack with the drop down wheel stand, Nordicht dynamo and some other bits and pieces to finish up my son's city bike build.
The Steco rack is for my DL-1 roadster, the saddles are for my wife to try, the dyno is going on my beer bike.

Probably early next month, maybe a little sooner.
Got fitted for it a couple weeks ago, then Ribble lowered the prices on all their Campy stuff (but not the groupsets). Managed to get a number of R/SR parts for only a bit more than what I'd planned on spending for a Chorus group.
Dave's good, he was the first person ever who told me that one of my femours is about 1.5cm longer than the other. Been to doctors in the past for back problems, etc, and it took a framebuilder to figure out my problem. Unfortunately, I'm not springing for two SR cranksets to solve my little problem. I guess Gramps shouldn't have met Grandma at the cousin's picnic...

2 spiral stainless "RD" cable housings. I was thrilled to get them for a decent price from the UK.
They won't work on any "RD" setup I know of, as they are maybe 6" long. One is identical to the FD cable on the build of the moment, same length. Neither are worth a dime to me. I went back to eBay and offered to mail them back, he gave me a refund for all but shipping, so I'm OK.

I'm fudging a bit; these came yesterday:
Used DID chain from cyclotoine for my long-time-coming Nishiki project (almost there).
Something I've been after for ages, a set of vintage Mavic headset wrenches.
