So here are a few pics of the restored RIH - maybe a touch neo-retro for some tastes but there you go ...

This is the 1978, or so, Venlo RIH. Although it has NO framenumber or a type indication. It's more or less finished, just in need of 2 Weinmann cable clips.

Gears Shimano 600
Frame Reynolds 531 stays and forks
Crank, stem, handle bar and seatpost SR
Weinmann 605 brakes and levers and dished rims
Maillard pion
Normandy hubs

Welcome, Januar1974! That combination of parts won't have been original to any bike, methinks. All good stuff, though. The "Super Campagolo" designation suggests that it will have had Campagnolo parts originally.

Looking forward to seeing pics. If you like, you can e-mail them to me and I'll put them up for you (nonfixie[at]gmail[dot]com).

Have you got a serial number? It should be on the lower head lug.

Thank you very much. I can't find the serial number, maybe because it repainted too thick. The frame paint scheme is two tone, white and blue, the blue paint looks original, but the white paint that on the head tube, seat tube and drop out look new.

I will send the pictures asap to you

Many thanks

Ah! It's a Viennese RIH Super. And a nice one, too. The 'Profi' model. Paint and decals seem to be original. I've seen them with Campagnolo Super Record, which would be logical, given the Campagnolo decal on the top tube.

Here are the first pics.

RIH randonneur 1990

A nice rando RIH I have recently bought from a friend (the first owner).

The bike was built up in the Amsterdam atelier by Wim van der Kaay, the owner of RIH Sport bikes, in Westerstraat, Amsterdam. The RIH has been build to the owner wishes in term of size and braze on.

Frame number (under the bottom bracket) 834405

Hello ciccioformaccio! Nice bike! Looks like a close relative of my Cové-built RIH "Speciaal". Which I don't think I've posted in this thread before, come to think of it, so here it is:

The Rustbucket Ratbike

So here is the 1970 RIH Rustbucket Ratbike. Single speed, Campa hubs, Mavic GP4 rims, Mafac Racer brakes, Brooks saddle and Bluemels guards. It's light and comfy. I love it.

The album with the pics is here.....RIH Rustbucket Ratbike

The Bluemels were attached to the frame and fork, so I guess they are original to the bike.

Need help in identification of RIH frame

Hi there! Few weeks ago I purchased a frame of this legendary brand! The number 8129 is indicated on the frame and the fork, and the Reynolds 531 mark is indicated on the plug stem as usual! I would like to identify what exactly this model is and what year of production, because the frame itself is of a non-native color, but in tubes at bottom bracket there is red paint, so the original color is red! Hope you can help me! Thanks!

P.S: Can't attach url, cause I'm new here :/

Welcome, argonaut3! # 8129 would seem to place it somewhere in the second half of the sixties, I believe. The model designations that I'm aware of were either the "Super Course" of the "Super". The Super Course was the racing frame, and the Super was a touring frame, with a slightly longer wheelbase and braze-ons for a rear rack and perhaps a generator.

Here the new version of the bike, after some cleaning and servicing.

Later I will mount the mudguards too.

Rih 106t

Hi all,

I'm RIH 106T, born in Groningen in 1968 or 69, I don't remember. I'm in good shape, my frame is at least. For the rest I'm a real mess and not sure what is original and what is not. The dude who adopted me recently, Patrick, promised to take care of me but hesitate whether going for parts a bit more recents or spending quite some time to find the parts from the same period.

Welcome, 106T! I think you need a minimum of 10 posts these days, to be able to post pictures. So go and make a few wisecracks in other threads, or welcome some new forum members until you're there, and get back here and post those pics. Looking forward to them!

"T" would have been 1969, I believe.

Found a new RIH in superb shape.
Frame and most of the components look almost as good as new.
Very pretty dark metallic blue clolour
The owner said he bought in in 89 but the frame number is 901104 ( for Non fixie and his data base) so it was finished 11 april 1990.

Almost complete Dura ace 7400 8 speed group in perfect shape and works flawlessly. i think the best stuff you could get at the moment. Downspeed shifters was a deliberate choice as he did not trust the STI set up yet

One small drawback is that he told me on the phone it was a 54 frame but i am afraid he mistook the number of world titles that was won on Rih bikes at the moment for the frame size. It is a 57.5 and that is to big for me, I tried if I could ride it but I will have to find a good home

Oh wow... nice bike!
I'd be really tempted if it was my size though (60-62ish).

Thanks, pullup! Now that is a nice Sinterklaas present. Sorry about it not being your size (or mine, for that matter)
