There's a RIH here with a local seller, a RIH 'luxe'. Looks decent enough, shimano 600 front/rear/brakes, etc. etc.
you could plobably look it up on 'marktplaats'. It's in Velp.


I thnk it's an RIH cové, but am not sure. Can anyone give me some details, frame-material? I mean, what did they use at the cové store, is the price asking price (150) decent enough?


I'm not really in search of a new bike like that, I'd like to upgrade my peugeot triathlon from 1987 first :). Good for developing a sort of a skillset.
After that there's a saddle-stem fixed Batavus course. And then.. etc. :)


So, any info?

edit: It's just been sold, apparantly. Phew! :P

first I want to show my blue RIH 9029. I have ridden the eroica 2017 in Gaiole with this bike. Almost all super record only changed the cranckset for a victory with 35 48. I like very much the self drilled campagnolo "nuovo" record brakes. It's very nice done and really symmetric. The seller told me that this bike was from the amstel team, but i am not sure.

this is anoher Rih I have. No numbers in the below headpost lugs. Amsterdam on the headbadge and decals, but no copper nails. There is an identification number at the seatpost lug. I know an almost exact same rih with such a number a litlle more high. Who knows more about a rih with such an identification number. Tne crankset is from nervar and to me it's a beautyfull one

You can be sure it was a Cove built RIH. The Luxe was more or less the top of the line. Reynolds 531 frame, stays and forks and a complete 600 Arabesque group. Mostly pearl white with red or blue headtube.
Depends on the state it was in but € 150 is a normal price for a bike that's rideable.
So you missed that one...

Well, you certainly did, in what was a surprise meeting for the both of us.

I can now safely say that 106T is red, wears mudguards, looks great, and seems to be in very good hands. :) Enjoy!

Hi, my name is Leonard and I'm from Brazil. I have an RIH, but I do not know anything about it. Unfortunately it has been repainted, but it has a serial number on the bottom of the bracket: P1571551. I've been looking for something for months, that's when I got to the forum. I hope you help me.

We got an old bicycle a few years ago from a neighbour who had passed away. Just been using it for shopping thus far, but a few days ago a guy was staring at it, when I parked it at the supermarket. He said that the RIH is quite a special bicycle and that it was a probably a sixties or seventies model. I'm now trying to figure out how old it is, but can't seem to find the serial number. It's a black RIH, pretty run down (still rides fine!) has a blue RIH logo and a "Een Covee Product" sticker on the saddle pipe. I looked at the forum on where to find the serial number, but it is not on the locations shown here. Any ideas?

Found the serial-number at last, right at the top of the saddle-pipe, but it is not very clear I'm afraid, it starts with 71 then something I cannot discern, but looks a bit like a 9 and then followed by 31.

Compay that looks just like my bike! N. 8712, look at post #223 in this thread.

I looked at the parts of the bicycle:
- Brakes: Weinmann 610 Vainqueur 999
- Rear Derailleur: Allvit
- Front Derailleur/ Gear shift levers: Hw-et (?) (have difficult reading the logo)
- Saddle: Brooks
- Handle bar is regular model, looks newer
- Crankset: Sugino 52 Japan
- Brake levers: Saccoon
- Handlebar (ITM) (Looks newer)

Well, let's do some more posting then. ;)

The Weinmann brakes and Huret transmission (the shift levers are probably Huret as well) seem correct for a a late sixties or early seventies Cové-built RIH and are probably original. Sounds like the entire cockpit has been replaced at some point in time. I would have expected a Titan stem and Maes/Kint bars with Weinmann levers. The Sugino cranks may have replaced a set of Nervars.

I got myself a new project (unintentionally), while buying some stuff for another bike! The seller started talking about this old RIH bike he got from his father and wanted to restore and repaint but didn't have time for, so I asked him to show it to me. The paint is not that bad as he was saying it was, I thought, and the frame appeared to be my size. So I ended up buying this frame from him, even thought that the chain stays are a bit bent, I believe. It seems more like a low-end model though: no derailleur hanger, unknown dropouts, braze-ons on the frame

Nice find. I'd say it's a Fongers-built RIH supersports bike from 1967. They came with either a rear dérailleur or a Sturmey Archer three-speed hub. Here's one that was for sale a while back:

Yes, I checked it on the website of Fongers and it seems that you're right, [MENTION=173992]non-fixie[/MENTION]. K stands for 1967. There is another one in a much better condition currently for sale around Amsterdam, by the way. The guy I bought the frame from had another RIH Sport (same supersports model, I believe) in red, which originally according to him came with Titan stem and handlebar (racing version). But I think that that was just a later modification.

My latest find, a nice Ivory painted Rih with just a touch of red in the paint. Probably late nineties build.
