now that's a thought: mondonico...but whenever I've seen pantographing on one of those it has an "A" above the "M" (for Antonio Mondonico) and haven't seen any from his son (Mauro) but I guess those might have "MM".
The question: does this frame have BSC threading in the BB and would a mondonico from about this era have that or Italian?

I would hold off on the decals for the time being; keep trying to sort out the builder. In the meantime, given that you're commuting on the bike, plain isn't all bad.

Some slight progress:
The screw that appears holds in the seatpost is Miche, and judging by the look of it, is probably original.
Does this point to Italian? or is that pretty standard?
Thanks

Not necessarily, as it's an easily replaced and often broken part (especailly the Campagnolo version). The best bet to determine the nationality in this case would be the bottom bracket threading.

I'm thinking its a fillet-brazed Rossin. I saw another one online which had the exact same BB shell and otherwise looked quite identical. Waiting back on pics from the poster. Unfortunately, I don't have the original forks but oh well -- might get a carbon fork at some point anyhow.
Thanks for all the help thus far!
