[VIDEO] not for the faint of heart
I was watching this movie Your Sister's Sister where one of the characters rides around an old Univega. Then this happened...

I keep an old Univega around for times when I lose my cool.

it seems i only curse when either talking about the other political party or working on my bike.
a couple things this poor soul does wrong: he keeps his pack on his back when trying to fix his chain and also doesn't wipe his hands before grabbing the bar tape. years ago, i watched a mechanic grab my bars with grease on his hands. i had leather tape at the time, and had a quiet fit about it inside my head. the rat $#*&% &%#*-€£ £^Π|×^!!!!!!!!

I couldn't watch the video past 1:37. I cringed as much as when I see violence against people.

Keener splendor
I laughed. Sometimes, when I'm working on bikes, my inner mechanic wants to do that.

I had a night like that once when I was in the Army. This loud cricket wouldn't stop chirping in my barracks room. I ended up moving my bunk, both wall lockers, a refrigerator, chair, table, and EVERYTHING into the center of the room, and the little bastard scurried out and took cover in the furniture pile and resumed his mocking chirp from within. Several times he stopped, I figured "He must've gotten the message"; but as soon as I turned the light back off and went back to bed, he'd start chirping again. I gave up and tried GI-issue foam earplugs, but he was just too loud. When I got up and started moving the furniture apart and back to the wall, he nearly got away!
When I finally caught him at 4am, my patient next door neighbor was beating on the wall, telling me to STFU, and I tortured the cricket slowly to death with a paper clip & boiling hot water.
Felt a little bad about losing control like that, but I turned out the light and went back to bed. But I'd been listening to his loud chirping for so long, that I still lay awake still hear his deafening Telltale Chirp and didn't sleep at all that night.

I sometimes feel that way when the RD really doesn't want to co-operate. A few mm this way... yay! Oops now it doesn't shift up right. Ok... 1mm the other way. Bikes can be downright annoying at times. Still, it does seem a waster of a perfectly good bike.
