Bikes: 1949 Hercules Kestrel, 1950 Norman Rapide, 1970 Schwinn Collegiate, 1972 Peugeot UE-8, 1976 Raleigh Sports, 1977 Raleigh Sports, 1977 Jack Taylor Tandem, 1984 Davidson Tandem, 2010 Bilenky "BQ" 650B Constructeur Tandem, 2011 Linus Mixte

The bike would hug the road better. Seriously, I don't know, but it's a pretty good question.

So are you planning to build a CF frame with Schwinn steel wheels or something like that?

My modern carbon fiber road bike: ~1100 gram frame, 1320 gram wheelset. I never thought of it like that before. It rides great, FWIW. I ride it more agressively than any road bike I've ever owned.

From: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada - burrrrr!

Bikes: 1958 Rabeneick 120D, 1968 Legnano Gran Premio, 196? Torpado Professional, 2000 Marinoni Piuma

The bike will feel sluggish and difficult to move off of the straight and narrow. Don't forget that on a bicycle, there are two large gyroscopes and the heavier they are, the more they impact ride quality. Just a theory and you are all welcome to burn the idea, if you wish.

Something like that....the wheels are not light, at all.

Bikes: blue ones.

Hm, it rides just fine on my 1300 gm principia frame with campy daytona/36 spoke open sports (I know, clydesdale wheels, overkill for my size and weight, but cheap and durable)

Sell the wheels to a hipster for a princely sum and buy some proper handbuilts.
