Recovering from a car hit in April - still pain in my shoulder and leg. Back pain as well.

Like so many others, my back is my Achilles heel. Total of seven fractured vertebrae. I feel lucky to still be walking around. Riding is a challenge for me though. Boo hoo.

I have a frozen thumb on my right hand from holding on to a Momo steering wheel in a crash. Arthritis, all through my body, and attacks me at will. However, exercise keeps the attacks down to a few bad ones a year. Also, a bum right knee from running. Doctors told me not to run anymore or they will have to cut me. I don't run anymore, I ride my bicycle.
All and all, I think we are all super fortunate to be here even with injuries, we are way, way ahead of the game!!
Cheers to all, especially Robbie who gave me a scare with this topic!!

My elbow hurts, and my fingernails are always cracking and tearing, but I think all things considered I have nothing to complain about. I'm sorry to hear about the rest of your* maladies, especially Ashley's, which was a surprise to me. I'll give him a call.

Yes.
My brain transplant didn't go as well as expected so there are are are are a few complications. Otherwise the things I can complain about are reasonably tolerable.

In reasonably good health except somehow I let myself slip back into Clydesdale territory. Neck hurts a little, knees are a little stiff, but mustn't complain, my mom just had a knee replaced completely. You'd think they'd put in a grease zirk but they claim that it's a lifetime bearing.

In 1989 I was riding up a street I didn't ordinarily ride up due to a parade riding at about 23 miles an hour into the sun. When I looked up I was looking into the back of a parked truck I swerved hard but caught my shoulder on the back of the truck. The Sun was low and I was riding into it on a street that does not usually have trucks on it with one side Parking that had just switched to the side I was riding up that day.
I suffered permanent nerve damage to my brachial plexus, on my right side now when I ride I do all my shifting with my left hand and drinking while riding I will only do on a quiet road as holding a straight line is difficult.

Dude...those blank tapes got passed around more than the box of junk. They were probably second in popularity to Eddie Murphy.

Maybe - we were close to NYC. We had those things being passed around as blank tapes before they were on Stern or selling them. I didn't know they had a name until much later - they were just the prank call tapes.

Broke the Tib & Fib in my right leg 10-25.
Intermedullary nailing of the tibia on 10-30.
I see the surgeon on 12-13 and I'm "good to go" OR have 4 more weeks of Winter.

I've had a problem with asthma flare-ups lately, but overall, I'm feeling pretty good. I'm relieved to be able to say that, too, because I did my first cyclocross race over the weekend and, honestly, I figured the odds were pretty good that I would not come out of it unscathed. But I had no problems, even with my terrible form on the dismount/run with the bike over obstacles/re-mount part of it. Kind of fun, actually.
Hopefully I can get the asthma better controlled in the near future, I'd really like to spend a lot of time on the mountain bike this winter and be ready for some mountain bike racing next year.

HA! Thanks Colonel. The only response here that made me smile. I would have laughed, but it hurts when I laugh.
