Bikes: they change so much I'm tired of updating this
torpado beta
i bought this bike off ebay for what i thought was a low price, local pickup so no shipping. it was in pretty bad shape. chrome was unsavable, rims didnt match, one rim was cracked and the axel broke when i went to take it apart. new paint and a few parts and now its done. i told my wife when i bought it that i was going to sell it. so i'm putting it on craigslist with a high price, that way when it doesnt sell this spring i will be forced to keep it and ride it. oh well....

Nice job. It's hard to sell a bike after you've prepped and painted it, in addition to the "regular" component cleaning. They just look so desireable.

Some people reading this will be kicking themselves now, wondering why they did not think of this first!

Ride it well, you've earned it on this baby! (Wives just don't get it...)
She really came out good. I love the Torpado panto seat stem. That must be a rare piece I would think. I'm a tan walled tire guy for the most part, and I would have used them on this one, but that's just my humble opinion. Is this frame an SL?

hmm...If the dust cap which I sent you is for that bike... it doesn't match... fantastic job, btw!

Thanks, I think my wife suspects that I want to keep it. We'll see, I will keep an eye out for the skillet though. Thanks Grady, I really enjoy taking on the rusted and abused projects, I'm already searching for another one.

That's certainly inspiring for me in light of my very recent Torpado Italia acquisition...but I believe mine will go the route of a retro-modern build (it's lower end & started out will a full Sachs group...about which I'm not particularly enthusiastic), but hopefully no need for repainting (usually, the prospect of repainting steers me away from the bike unless it's really something special...to me, I mean)
