Diamond shapes are pretty central to harlequin anything if ya ask me and this wrap doesn't seem terribly diamond-y to me... not that there's anything wrong with it but I wouldn't call it harlequin.

From just a quick glance, it almost seems like 1 roll of tape is wrapped normally with a second roll wrapped over it leaving a space between each revolution. Harlequin is a lot more exact, with precise diamond shapes that match on each side of the bars. I love the look, but I don't think I'd have the patience to do harlequin wraps myself.

Looks like two rolls spiraled with overlap. Not harlequin. But nice.

I'm not nuts about thet wrap job at all. I checked out the website, they're putting together some nice bikes. I did however have a hard time reading the ABOUT page https://brazenbicycles.com/#ABOUT: seems very contrived to me.

no, not a nice way to wrap a bar. And the text on the site makes a huge deal out of what we all do and love, fix up basket case bikes - why would that need a hipsterish write up full of horrible clichés?

honestly it would be a pretty fun source of income to build custom bikes for people. I'd rather focus on low price, functionality and practicality over VO/Riv/brooks/shellac'd tweed riders that this guy does.
as far as the bar wrap... meh..

There's a guy in Louisville that does similar things, I hope he never wraps a bar like this, though. It's a case of style over substance, for me at least.

I'm pretty sure we've discussed this site on here before and reached the same conclusions - nice gallery of bikes, but without a lot of consideration to the functionality. I'm always a little suspicious about "rando" bikes and front bags that seem to lean up against the windows of coffee shops but never put in many miles! I suspect the bar wrap is merely an extension of that philosophy.

I liked the bikes, he seems to make a nice build in the end.
I was wondering about the wrap job myself because I like using cotton bar tape to wrap my bars but at this point I have worn the cotton pretty thin and now i can feel the aluminum It looked comfy to me. But I wasn't sure if I wanted to do something like that with my bars.
