Last spring, I shelled out about $800 for parts from a guy in Denville, NJ. Road brakes, bars, levers, cranksets, BBs, and over 30 stems. I've sold/reused enough to cover almost half.
I should be back in NJ around Easter. If you have a list or photos, PM me and I can take a look. i'm just north of Livingston.

+1 on USPS Priority Mail.
I don't bother with weighing and exact postage. Use the free USPS Priority Mail boxes, and ship everything that will fit in one for the appropriate flat rate.

It used to be the forums section of Serotta.com but was recently spun-off/bought out and re-named the Paceline. Their Classifieds section is quite busy, although it skews heavily towards modern carbon and titanium bikes and high-end components. Basically the sort of stuff Serotta owners would want to buy and sell. High-end custom bikes also pop up for sale there often - think along the lines of Pegoretti, Richard Sachs, Vanilla, Moots, etc.

You will need a minimum post count of 25 (i think) to start a for sale thread there.
also check out Velocipede Salon's classifieds section. That forum is popular with custom frame builders. Richard Sachs posts there often.

The new ebay picture uploader is super fast and makes listing much easier. You just upload directly from your computer and it uploads them in huge size (1mb or more) super fast. The only photo editing I do is to remove bad pictures. It works better with people looking at stuff on their phone/tablet too since the pictures are no longer embedded in the description.
Also go order usps priority packaging online. They have some super nice small boxes that are also really light.
Also get the weighmax on amazon, it's about $20 and is awesome, I just weigh the stuff and print the label and stick it in/next to my mailbox for the postman to pick up. If you don't want to leave boxes there you can usually leave a note for the postman to pick up stuff by your door.
No more post office. The extra gas/time for the $20 is worth it.
I don't upload to photobucket or flickr anymore and it saves a bunch of time.

One thing I had problems with though on that one was printing the label. I use an older Mac (dual G5 PowerPC, running Leopard OSX10.5). The Paypal shipping app (Pitney-Bowes) uses Java (or passes thru to USPS, which uses Java). I have disable Java in my browsers per the US security notice the other day. I tried re-enabling it and still no go, so finally I grabbed my son's Macbook and did it that way.

I'll let you know when my schedule firms up. A few weeks ago, Auchencrow was nice enough to invite me over to view his pristine collection of Raleigh, Trek, Motobecane and other revered road bikes!.
