I too would have probably fixed the cracked before proceeding with the rebuild.

Hey thanks for the offer Tom- but I won't trouble you or the delivery people for them- Never cared much for centerpulls- but Universal are'nt too bad. In fact I just got a couple of new Dia-compe sidepulls in the mail today that will probably go on it. On sale CHEAP- and nice vintage medium reach.

Another coat of gold on the bike today and the decals are touched up- it's ready to clearcoat.

I haven't rebuilt any of it really- just put some parts on for the photos. Not sure when it'll be finished- two other projects going on as well,
... AND IT'S GOTTA STOP!!!!!

You don't happen to have the adjustable side of the BB do you? Ben sent me two fixed cups.

My first car- a 1949 Willy's wagon- 1970

+1, you can't really sell it. I would try to get a frame maker to sweat some brass in the cracks, and then as said before "call it a day"!

There's a fixed cup on the frame- and you had another fixed cup in the bag- after a minute of trying to screw that in and then wondering if it was the right thread- I realized that it was a fixed cup, and so reverse threaded I think-

If you haven't got the check yet- hope it's tomorrow.....

Oh yeah, the check came yesterday, I meant to tell you. Thanks.
Those Italian bottom brackets are right hand thread on both sides. That's the only Italian bike I've ever had, oddly enough so those would be the only Italian cups I've ever had, too. Now that you mention it, there wasn't a lock ring, was there. Hmm.

It DOES thread in- I checked the standards in the meantime and saw they are both right hand thread- it's a bit stiff and there may be just an edge of tubing getting in the way farther down, if it gets that far-

but yes, no lockring- another fixed cup- OK I found a set at a pretty good price so I'll probably order some eventually
The fixed cup in the frame hasn't budged yet- but soaking it and it looks pretty good anyway-

Thanks again- I'll post some pictures when it's more built up again- may take a few weeks-

If I don't have the original cup, I have another Italian BB. Email me if you need it, because I may not watch this thread often.
