I finally found a Shogun Triple Triangle frame, in Tange 2 none the less! I've been searching for a lugged triple triangle frame with racy geometry for a while. Does anyone have an idea of the model?

It should be a Shogun Ninja. The New 600EX components place it 1984-1987 but it should be from the latter end of that period. The serial number should tell us the exact year.

Here's my own present (1st ever) Hellenic stayed bike project:...

A Medici Aerodynamic. It's moving along quite slowly because of very short funds this year, so you might easily beat me to completing project bikes with yours. There's just something about these frames that just make them look really attractive to me. ever since I first saw a GT with its "Hellenic" seatstays, I've always wanted to get one.

No, they used the numbers prior to going to the names. I believe the transition year was 1986, when the entry models still used numbers and the mid and upper models got names. The model names held on until after the last Shogun road bicycles in 1990.

Edit: BTW Robbie, there's a 1989 Centurion Prestige over in the Appraisals forum that the poster is considering selling. You're lucky that it's one size too big for me!

I picked up an identical (well, slightly larger) frame set locally not long ago...though mine has some siginificant cosmetic rust that I've had to remove along with a bit of that pink paint. Identical paint scheme, 600 EX HS, etc. Very cool frame, nice details (e.g. the stay ends and fork crown); thinking I'll build mine up (once I do touchups) with whatever I can find handy and see how I like it...looking forward to seeing the build here and getting your impressions!

What about a GT?? There are lots more of them still rolling around....I see a good number of them in SF all the time....so easy to spot too because of those seat stays.....

What's your preferred size? My recent acquisition might turn out a bit on the small side (it's a 58cm c-t-c seat tube or thereabouts, and I usually ride a 60-62). I would certainly consider dropping a line before passing it on if that might be in your range (and of interest), and it doesn't work for me. I'm in Canada, but it's possible for me to throw something in the mail on the US side to get Stateside rates...the border's not far, if it ever came down to it!

Bianchi Girl, I bought a Nashbar Toure LP a while back, that I'd be willing to part with. Seat tube measures 56.5cm c-c and the top tube measures 56 c-c. Ishiwata triple butted EX tubing. Long chain stays. Let me know.

IIRC, BG rides bigger frames than 56/57cm......

I've been hunting for one of these for years. Shogun, GT, Nashbar, whatever. I'm not picky. I'll bet they all came off the same production line, anyway.

The pink Shogun = Shogun 1000. I would know, I've got two of them in the smallest size (no triple triangle). To those who keep finding them in 50-52: if you find a Shogun 1000 (specifically the pink one), LMK. I'm desperate to try one size bigger (currently have two 48cm), and finally get the hellenic stay look. Not to mention the pink is pretty awesome.

BG, why settle for just any old Hellenic when you can add to your Hetchins collection?

The triple is quite as pronounced on them but I have considered them. I have seen a few on ebay and of course when I remember to bid they go for too much and when I forget they go cheap.

Ideally a 60 would be my size too. I had a Shogun once that was listed a s a 58 but ended up being closer to a 56.

That looks big for a 56, any idea what the standover height is?

Put a Bates Cantaflex fork on there and I'll take it! Actually I was thinking of having someone make me a faux Hetchins Mixte with a triple triangle.

I'll measure it this evening, when I get home.

All mixtes are arguably Hellenic since they have stays that extend forward, past the seat tube.

No, I've been hunting one for years. They're kinda rare, found one with some front end damage once You can have a new one built for someting like $1,500 plus chrome and shipping.
