Seatpost ID
Just picked up an old Norco road bike tonight with some nice sugino/suntour parts from the mid 1980s. The strange thing is the seatpost, obviously not original...
Anyone seen it before? The top part looks almost exactly like the one in my syncros but the design is weird. Somehow I think I have seen one before. the only marking is the size 26.4 on the end of the cylinder that the bolts go through. I was sort of wondering if it could be a really old USE post. Any ideas?

Obviously as soon as I give up googling, take photos, send them to myself, upload them to photo bucket, post a thread and then google and 5 minutes later find the answer. It is an IRD seatpost, but appear to have a replacement syncros top piece. Wish I had the original parts.. dammit.
Interesting, first designed in 1984 is is the original two bolt zero offset design.

Thanks frank here are a couple photos I found on the net... it looks like there is an insert that the bolts thread into. As you can see from my photo I am looking for the two top pieces. I have an early syncros ti post that will benefit from the top piece acquired here, but I also need the lower cradle for that one too. PM is coming.
