This was the first component I got that pretty much made me lose my little doggie mind. NOS 6 speed Command Shifters. It just so happens this was my best ebay receiving day. Three separate purchases arrived on the same day.

The Arvon stem is much simpler in it's design and they are great to use... he designed them for mountain bikes and then started using them on touring and rando bikes. As they set from the bottom they are a little more work to adjust but almost impossible to steal.
I think his his hubs are actually much more elegant than the Phil Wood as they are turned from a single piece of billet stock and the drilling for the spokes is exceptional... like the PW they are cartridge bearing hubs that normally have 2 bearings but we can build them with as many as 4 for extra axle support. This is good for tandems and much bigger riders... some of the front hubs have triple bearings.
The bottom hub accepts two individual cogs (no dingle needed here) and has three cartridge bearings with a double on the drive side to handle the extra torque while the other hub is a standard single fixed hub.

I think the C-Record seat post is one of the prettiest things Campagnolo ever produced

I also have a Super Record seat post that does not have the globe just campagnolo written across the front that I think is rare

Love those Avron hubs. Never seen them in person.
Here's a nice set of Phil Wood hubs, with the Hi-Lo rear. These are self-service models, too.

I have seen such a nice variety of Arvon hubs... I run several wheelsets on my own bikes and have built a lot of wheels around them (usually touring and tandem) but also have some time trial hubs that are pure sex to look at.
Arvon provided the 1984 Olympic cycling team with their hubs, the carbon wheels they were mated to were also produced here by Dynamic Composites and the owner is my neighbour... I would love to get my hands on one of those wheelsets.

Now THAT is shallow depth of field. In the old days, that took a 1.0 or 0.9 aperture.

They sure are.
It's interesting- I wear a 32. 32 is actually kind of big on me. These shorts are 32, but they're pretty small on me. They must be 32" in 1985 measurements.

New but clearly C&V inspired.

Electra is making these currently and they are 8/9/10 Shimano/SRAM freehubs. Just bought a set and plan to lace to the H plus Son TB14 in the gray. Should be a nice modern but vintage looking build.

Love those Phils - I have an original version of his Hi-Low with the stainless steel barrel. Pretty and beautifully functional hubs
Keeping with the current focus on hubs, this special wheelset (OMAS hubs) is on the way from Vienna, destined for my gold Mexico:

They're mated to FIR EA65 rims; the skewers still have the original steel/alloy ends, with a little fading patina. The seller was awesome: over-the-top helpful and included an unused set of Gommitalia tubulars, new rim tape and checked the current tires/glue for me. He was ready to re-glue them just in case after I described the limitations inherent at my current remote location
The perfect finishing touch for the Mexico. Finally I will get the weight down to around 20lbs or a little less with a tubular wheelset - one with some extra-special cachet!
