Well - it's (mostly) done. I need a more appropriate bottle cage and a Silca, but otherwise, it came out nicely. I'm thinking of putting green fill into the windows that would match the fenders - would I be marring original condition by doing so?
Big thanks to VJP for making this happen, CDM for his advice and jervine, who I still owe a rim.

Oh baby. I've been waiting for this one with great anticipation. What year is it? 73 I presume. While I think those fenders are about as cool as it gets, they do sort of clash, just a bit, with the rest of the bike, for me. But that's a minor quibble. If it were mine, I would never add any paint infill, though I can see the temptation to tie the whole thing together. I wonder if there is a medium that could be used that would be 100% reversible.
GREAT bike, Aaron.

73'
They actually look better with the bike in person, the photos don't really do it justice.

Aaron, I have a REG "erector set" bottle cage if you can use it. Not exactly a pristine example, and perhaps a bit earlier time frame than that bike, but might look better than that one.
What a bike. I'm envious.

Man, you might as well just retire from the C and V hobby. If that isn't self-actualization, I don't know what is
Let us know what size Silca you need. I might have one in the stash.

Such a beautiful classic! I wouldn't add the paint on the lug windows myself on such a bike, but using a non-permanent paint might work out if you really want to....
BTW, what's with the odd "drillium"(?) on the seatpost??

I was thinking a REG like this:

Chombi - my mind fears going such places.

nice. All the way from Ace cycle in Vancouver. I picked up a bike this summer with that shop decal. One of the coolest.

Genius! I think that's the ticket...

Yup - looks beautiful as-is, but if you want to go OCD on the lug windows, pick up some Tamiya acrylic paint from your local hobby store - if you want to remove it at a later date, it'll be much easier to do vice enamel.
Lovely addition to the stable
