Bianchi model name?
I found a Bianchi on Craigslist without decals or a model name. The owner says he bought it that way in 1973. The only other information he can provide is a serial number: 2H94175. Is there a site for punching this in that will give me the model name? I've searched these threads but nothing goes back that far that I've seen. Any help would be great appreciated. Here is a list of parts if it helps: Balilla brakes, Gnutti hubs, Huret shifters, Varedo rims. Thx

Unless someone can dig up some early '70s catalogs you may never know what it is. T-Mar may have a line on the year by the serial but I don't know how far back his data base goes.
Personally I would be skeptical of the one owner theory since I can't see anyone buying a brand new bike sans decals. Also since it seems to be missing handlebar tape (did he buy it like that also?) it likely needs a lot of work like overhauling the bearings, and cleaning everything. I think this may be a bit over priced unless all the work is done and it will give trouble free service all next yer.

its got a cottered crank, 27" wheels, and no derailleur hanger on the dropout, probably stove pipe tubing, I would pass. that bike is not the best quality and from the bike boom era. The seller is asking way to much for that bike. Even in an inflated market like SF. I would pay no more than $140 in good condition where I didn't have to do anything for it. Your basically just paying for a name.
