I have consigned myself a while back to buy 4 rolls to tape one set of bars.

You will like Newbaum's, DD. They give you, I think, an extra foot or so on each roll. But what I really like about it is that is is thicker and more "soft" feeling. Not that cloth bar tape gives any sort of padding but this stuff seems more user friendly to me. Plus, it comes in some nice colors. Eggplant, for instance. ![Smilie](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I like it. But then I'm a fan of cotton tape and plan on using it on a winter build. I used to use about twice as much on the bars for a little extra padding.

Hockey Tape
One little trick I heard about recently is using a layer of hockey tape underneath. And one guy told me that some just use the hockey tape, since they come in so many colors now, and just add a layer when it gets dirty.

Seriously though, I always have a couple of rolls on the workbench for odd uses.
