Sorry for derailing the thread, but curiosity has finally gotten the better of me.

Why do all your posts have a link to your website? I assume it must be on purpose because I don't ever see anyone else's posts with links.

If I had a website that had all kinds of good information for free and I was kind of proud of it, I'd put it in every post as well.

Along those lines, if I had my own website that had the stories of the stuff I was posting about, I'd include links to that as well.

Bikes: 72 Cilo Pacer, 72 Gitane GT, 72 Peugeot PX10, 73 Speedwell Ti,l, 75 Peugeot PR-10L, 80 Colnago Super, 81 Zinn, 85 ALAN Cross, 85 De Rosa Pro, 86 Look 753, 86 Look KG86, 89 Parkpre Team, 90 Parkpre Team MTB, 90 Merlin

I don't know, but there's a new co-worker who just started at my office. Commutes on a fancy carbon Cervelo. I mentioned that I am into vintage bikes, and he told me he had a 3Rensho Allez he was using as a single-speed grocery-getter but just sold it shortly before he started working here. I'm going to have a word with his supervisor and his reckless behavior.

Bikes: Somebody stole them all... I walk now.

None of that explains why he links to the site in every post, but I'll drop it. Nothing negative intended - pure curiosity. Back to Specialized.

I ran across a $150 85 Allez with a full Superbe group this weekend while on vacation without my bike rack.

He linked to it because it contains the back story.

What is the deal with this 3Rensho made Allez? I've never heard of such a thing. Which models were they?

My touring bike's an '84 Sequoia - but seems a bit new to be 'vintage'.

1989 specialized stumpjumper makes a great commuter:

1991 team stumpjumper that I'm in the process of tearing down and rebuilding:

I like my 2 stumpjumpers but Golden Boy's biplane stumpjumper is really great.

What a great pic of a stumpie in its natural habitat, . I really like the long wheelbase on the older stumpjumpers.

Man this is not helping the envy. Especially the white '89 SJ that matches my dad's Allez. Definitely putting that on the grail list.

shoota, you're right: https://mombat.org/Specialized_Specs.htm

Based on the u-brake and the color scheme, it must be an 88, not an 89. This was just a lucky CL find. I wasn't even looking for a bike, it popped up on CL, and I couldn't help myself, lol.

Here's a thread from my friend and neighbor, (whom I haven't seen for awhile, on here or in the flesh) on his Yoshi Konno built Specialized Allez. https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-bike-acquired

Check the head tube lugs on the red Allez/Rensho and the blue 3Rensho. <Pointy>

Then there's my red Allez as found. Just a plain Jane type. The Suntour GPX stuff works great. I don't know the year, must be almost '90 with the unicrown fork. Someone put Sante brake levers on it. Not sure why but I won't complain.
