I am unsure of the exact age, but I put the white one at early 70's the blue maybe 79-84? The white one was purchased in Italy and ridden all over Sicily according to the original owner from which I purchased them. The newer blue Masi was bought is Palo Alto. I will be keeping the blue one for sure since it is just my size! The white one is m60 or 58x58 ctc.

The 2 on the Bottom Bracket chainstay socket is often seen on resprays that went through the Vigorelli shop. From those that I have seen, they are often of less durable paint and transfers than the original finishes. This one to my eye as far as metalwork goes could be a late Gran Criterium or early Prestige. The window on the Bottom bracket downtube socket is a "Prestige" thing for a time.
The larger white frame is probably from 1971 or Maybe late 1970... the fork looks earlier, the lack of a braze on pump peg under the seat lug suggests that too, but the M BB cutout ans the seat stay caps point to 1971. If you drop the fork, you will have its date most probably on the steerer, month and year.
Hopefully one fits, as they are definitely two distinct sizes.

The blue one is a perfect fit, it is marked a 57cm but measures 55x55ctc. White one is a bit big.

The blue one's outer chainring is not properly installed. Ship it to me and I'll fix it for nothing.... trust me!

The slotted crown was a short lived styling permutation. Later came the investment cast crown with the decoration on the top and semi slots on the front and back.
The white one appears to be made from Columbus tubing, at least the fork anyway.

Oh well. Having the size stamp was pretty common on the steerer, the fork build date usually can be found too, like 11 70 which would be November 1970. So, you are left with the metalwork details. These graphics originally came sometime in 1971, the paint could well be original. One possible guess as to no pump peg is as it is before the Silca "frame fit" pumps came out, there may not have been a standard handle pump long enough to catch a peg under the top tube. That was a 1971 feature that was dropped when the frame fits arrived.

I can just see it, he'll tell us he got them for a song and could probably make all his money back by simply selling the pantographed stem on Ebay. Or at least I hope that's the story (I always like hearing when somebody gets a deal)!
I love all the little details, but especially love those reallllllly long seatstay caps on the blue one. Very nice scores both - can't wait to see 'em cleaned up.

Story on the bikes, well two ads with no pictures popped up on Craigslist for a blue masi bike and then a white frameset. I answered both with my number and said I could head over with the cash immediately.
The owner called me back and I rushed over. He was the original owner and had bought the white one while on vacation in Italia. The blue one he bought a few years later in palo Alto the blue one was in regular use until 10 years ago when he started riding more modern bikes. I dug deep into my bike funds but I still got a pretty fair deal.
And no way am I selling the panto stem to oat for it I rode the blue one to work today
