Campy brake lever question.

I have some Campy Aero/Non Aero brake levers. I do not know which model but they can be used either way. The brake nipple holder sits in a slotted groove which allows it to adjust to which mode it is being used in, either aero cable routing or non-aero. The nipple holder seems to favor sliding into the position for aero cable routing, with the consequence being that when the cable is routed in the non-aero position there is almost no cable pull when the lever is actuated.

My question is: Is there a spacer which must be used to prevent the nipple holder from sliding back when actuated?
