LOL - I do like eclipse racks. These are actually Jim Blackburns with adapters.
No fenders gomango...and I'm using pretty thick tires; I don't think fenders would accommodate the 700x33.5 jack browns. More photos soon! I just wish the richness of color came through, and the crispness to the lug cutouts. |

Remember, I've seen two of these in person. Your pictures are very nice, but the colors are tough to duplicate. I've seen one of these painted in creme and it was a knockout as well. Just wondering about fenders Aaron. No biggie without them. |

The lug cutouts sum up my attitude towards this frame.
While I'm definitely impressed by older bikes like your new Frejus, this kind of thing is where my heart's at. Stunning overall, and wonderful details. I think the semi-wrap seatstay caps really suit such an elegant tourer. Even the font on the DT transfer is striking. I'll take your word on the colour combination (the blue looks great in the pics, but it's true that the panels don't show as purple in these photographs). You're having quite the Xmas season. |

Congrats to Aaron, add'l info and a lateral thread hijack...
Peter is a gentleman, email him your serial # and he'll probably give you some info on the frame. Ser# is under the bb shell, near dt/shell junction; also stamped on steer tube. He's been building out of Belmont Wheelworks since the '70s, after arriving from the UK. He showed at NAHBS 2010 in Richmond, VA, and I think in '11 at the Philly show. Many of his show bikes somehow had ornate/sumptuous details while still being kind of understated. I have a mystery Mooney, CyclArt repaint, very low ser# on steer tube, with bb shell ser# filled in w/paint. Peter's records for the number stamped on the steer tube show a different frame, I'm not anxious enough for info to start removing paint from the bb shell to verify ser#. He did confirm it was one of his; I suspect it might have had some bz-ons added at repaint. Tire clearances were pretty tight so I went with a 650b conversion, but even the narrowest 32mm 650b tires I could find are still pretty darn tight. Has vertical drops, decided to build it as a fixed gear using a Philcentric bb. I've posted pix here a couple times before. I'm not familiar with Mooney, but it certainly looks like a decent frame. Congrats! :thumb: I finally grabbed a few pics of the Frejus today, but haven't posted them yet. People keep trying to distract me. ;)
