Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.

If someone has an obsession that falls short of causing them major stress, the obsession might be healthy in that it focuses on and attaches "infinite value" onto something that is not terribly important.

The purpose being to allow one to isolate their focus, away from majorly-stressful, real-life challenges that are (or feel like) they are out of that person's control, or which have taken on a life of their own as "fear of failure" or "keeping up with imagined expectations".

Also, the more emphasis that one puts on their obsession, the greater the reward they may feel when they accomplish any goal associated with the obsession.

Healthy stress-management? So perhaps, if an obsession can replace a less-healthy obsession, then it is good?

Bikes: 2 many 2 fit here

dddd, you might have an obsession with clarity of thought and getting to the heart of the matter. I recommend you see a qualified specialist for appropriate therapy.

I'd happily see the specialist, but I'm too busy working on trying to get this Gran-Turismo to index correctly. ...Sigh

No, I'm not kidding, it does index, but 7sp index is outta the question, too sensitive.

My therapy this evening will be taking a 5-mile ride, in the dark.
