Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had to do some last minute Christmas shopping for a gift exchange tonight... and I'm skipping church to do a ride tomorrow.

16" of snow so far with a bucketload more on the way. Shoveling the driveway every 2 hours just to keep up. I did go for a short ride on my SS MTB earlier today. I know I'm a weenie, but even with studded tires that's a tough row to hoe.

Temps in the 70's here. I'm kind of wishing I had the time today. The funny thing is, one of the people I'm exchanging gifts with tonight (Biker395) would completely understand if I was late due to an impromtu century in this weather. His neice doesn't agree, and I live with her.

I'm working for the 8th day in a row ... and yesterday's work involved lifting and moving 2.5 tonnes of cherries, so if I make it through today without collapsing in a heap on the floor, that will be an accomplishment.

However, if by some miracle we're off early, I may still be tempted to ride.

I just got in a quick 8 miles in before the snow is about to fall, about 2 feet are expected. I wanted to go longer but my two layers of gloves were still insufficient for the temperature.

I rode my mountain bike 35 miles today. Temp around 38-40º with wind 10-15 MPH. It was cold, but certainly doable. It was a fun ride.

I did ride. However I cut out about 50mi of the ride I was going to do because the winds were intense today and I didn't want to get blown off the freeway or off the mountain.

Swam a mile, and lifted weights. Today is the day off of the precious bike. I'll be on it 2mro for probably 2 hrs if the weather cooperates. I doubt it though, seeing as God hates me and all.
