Opinions on build mock-up

Hey guys. Don't know much about classic frames and have had trouble getting a deal to go through, but I did a mockup on a frame I can probably get for $100 this week. Is this le mans 12 worth the build? Also let me know what you think of the aesthetics. (original is on bottom)

Thanks for the input. I'll have to look into which vintage frames are worth the effort. So far it is hard to tell just because everyone seems to have different opinions.

The deep Vs are actually the wheels that came on my Cannondale supersix. I plan on going crabon clinchers soon and want to use those on my build. Hoping to be able to cold-set the frame to 130mm.

I've been lusting over that thread. I guess I just don't know the difference between the good builds and not so great ones.

and if squeeze means just springing the frame open then I will definitely try that-- sounds much easier. Thanks for the tips.

I agree on the wheels not a big fan of V rims they ride lousy

Almost nothing is worth going to the expense of repainting. If you have the skills and clean place the time to DIY it then that is your choice.

The bike in question is a bad candidate for Ergo/STI since it has a shifter mounted on the top of the down tube. you need to be creative and be willing to make do with a fix for a housing stop.
