Also Panaracer Pasela series of tires come with tan sidewalls and are pretty good in the rugged department. The Panaracer PT is a lighter version of the regular Pasela, and the regular Pasela is a lighter version of the Pasela TG; in other words the TG would be the most rugged, I've used the TG on my touring bike and have ridden loaded on gravel and never had an issue with sidewalls. The toughest sidewalls I've ever seen though were made by Specialized Armadillo All Condition but those are a dark red sidewall.
Just do a internet search: tan sidewall clinchers and a bunch of those tires will pop up, just take your pick after reading about a few, just stay away from the dirt cheap ones like the Kenda, Shin or Chin or something like that.

How about Specialized Armadillos? Not quite "gum" color?

I mentioned that, they are reddish color, depending on which one you get, but this is the reddish one: https://static.lfgss.com/attachments/...-condition.jpg The others are black with various colored strip going around where the tread and sidewall meet.

I have a pair of Panaracer PT 700x28c tan wall tires with not even 100 miles on them. I keep them at the 105psi which is what it says to run on the sidewall and already the sidewall is breaking down in 2 spots. I dont remember hitting any potholes, our streets are pretty nice. The sidewalls are clean, no sign of an impact. They even have the little feelers on the tread from the molding process still. The sidewalls are just super thin.
I want a tan wall for this vintage bike but I want one that will hold up to normal riding without breaking down. Any suggestions?

If the sidewalls are breaking down in spots, you might have some very subtle damage to the rim. I have used those tires for years and the only time I had a problem with the sidewalls I found a couple of rough patches on the rim that caused it. I had previously had a puncture on the road and the rim had gotten damaged at that time.

CRAZY!!!! On Saturday I got an email that the warranty replacement tire has shipped. To my amazement it showed that it was processed and coming from Japan. I figured that it would take a week or two for delivery. When I checked this morning it says its out for delivery to me. It must have cost Panaracer more in freight than the tire is worth...
