Bikes: they change so much I'm tired of updating this
I am such a glutton for punishment.
Saw this Trek 600 series frameset on craigslist for $20. I've dealt with the seller before and hes a pretty good guy.He says the rear stays have been spread for a mountain bike rim and the stays are bent. For some reason I think I can turn this into a nice bike. Worse case I can hang it up on the wall, but I have to at least try.

I picked it up this morning. The seller said he got it and it was loaded with parts from a huffy mountain bike. It's in good shape and it's a USA made 600 series. Bad thing is they didn't spread the stays to accept a mountain bike rim, they hammered in the inside of the stays to accept a mountain bike tire. Once I get it sandblasted I will figure out what direction to go. If there is no cracks, I might just hammer out the dents as much as possible, use some body filler and paint it. I know that's not the "professional" way to do it. But this is a keeper and I'm not a pro.

I'll just see where it takes me. It's a 1985 USA 600 series. I'd like to see if I can get it back to original. I'm a pretty decent metal worker, so I think I can get it back into shape. I'm also a big trek fan, so for $20 I'm pretty happy.
