Schwinn Identification
I recently purchased a Schwinn that I was told was "probably" a Varsity, but the more I look into it the less likely that seems. There are some things that seem inconsistent to me, so if you fine folks could help me to identify just what type of Schwinn this bike is I would appreciate it.
The specifics: 1) the bike has a Schwinn Chicago head badge with 0614 stamped on it, but also a Cro-Moly 4130 badge. 2) it has Sakae Custom drop bars. 3) Sugino BT crank. 4) SuntourSymmetric down tube gear shifters. 5) Suntour ARX derailers 6) Dia-Compe 500 breaks 7) 27" x 1 1/4 tires
It doesn't much matter to me one way or the other which Schwinn model this is, I like the bike regardless, but I am curious. Any thoughts?

You can browse through 1970's and 80's Schwinn catalogues here:
Schwinn Catalogs by Year
Looks like a nicer bike to me. Early 80's Le Tour? I am not an expert but the 1984 catalogue matches what you have.

Yes, I don't know what it is but it is definitely nicer than a varsity.

That looks like an '84 Le Tour in Dark Blue: Schwinn 1984 Lightweight Bicycles -- Le Tour
The badge number indicates it was built on the 61st day of '84 (Thursday March 1st 1984) and the specs match those listed for the Le Tour that year: Schwinn 1984 Lightweight Bicycles -- 1984 Specifications (Page 2)

Well, I am going to assume that it is a Le Tour then. The more I looked into it the less likely it seemed to add up to a Varsity. I'm glad to have some consensus on this, thanks for the help. Now to go learn about my bike...
