Vintage Legnano -- Year? Model?
Hey there guys!
I have just bought a very nice Legnano, but as i don't know alot about italian bicycle's i thought you could help me out determining its model and year.
I think everything on it is original, what do you think? I know it has been badly re-painted.

Thanks a lot, you rock

I have several Legnanos in my collection, the oldest being circa 1949/1950, newest about 1972ish. My oldest has a serial number of CU983_ with last digit worn away. Yours would be around 1948-49. Nice find, first I've ever seen.

On Paolo's site is this, Bici Classiche : Legnano 1949
A 1949 with serial number CG1706. That would put yours at 1949/1950. That bike and your bike share the push-up type of front brake.
I don't think your handlebars are original. They would be unusual for Legnano bars if you look at the catalogs from the era. You are also missing the the chainguard but those come up often on Italian ebay.

As for price, that is for the appraisal forum, but I would hazard a guess of $100-$200.
