Am I weird that I aim to get the "crochet tan"? I equate that to a C&V biking badge of honor. I don't know anyone who sports crochet gloves other than a few weirdos like me who ride almost exclusively on steel.

I wish Cannondale still made the gloves they made in the early '80's. The gloves I wore had the smooth side of the leather on the inside and made them super comfortable and easy to remove.

Those do look very nice. Made in Pennsylvania, eh? They'd probably cost about a hundred bucks these days. I found a great, NOS pair of Cycle Pro gloves a while ago on ebay. Extremely well made, of the finest Cabretta glove leather in a beautiful mahogany color. They weren't cheap but worth it. So nice I've been reluctant to wear them.

I have used these, and they are pretty good. Gloves don't last me a long time, so when a pair lasts five months or so, I consider them to be decent quality. The padding is minimal. I might have to order some of those colored ones, all mine have been black.

And the tan lines are actually kind of cool. I rode five hundred miles over five days to a Comic Con, and by the time I got there I had a pretty good waffle tan on the hands. Quite a few people thought I was some star trek cosplay nerd who was out of costume. Its the only time a biker tan has ever gotten me the chance to chat up anyone at the bar
