1973 Paramount Track

Hello,
I am returning my Paramount Track to original condition. What chain was supplied on these bikes. It has 50 chainring.
Thanks for your help!

You could call Waterford Precision Cycle with your serial number and for a couple of bucks they can they can give you all the build data on your bike. Most likely you will talk to Richard Schwinn or his wife. Basically they can give you the bikes pedigree. Roger

The 50t chainring was standard, with 49t, 51t, and 52t rings as no extra charge options on the 1973 P14-0 track bike. The chain specification is 1/4" x 54" (I assume that's for the standard 50t ring). The Schwinn part number for the chain is 51 095, but I'm not sure that will help in 2014.

I think they used Union chains, 1/8" x 1/2". I think any ring between 48 and 50 would be reasonable. Campagnolo Pista cranks often came with 48t rings, a 48 x 15 is a decent track warm up paceline gear.

Thanks for reply. I do have the provenance report, but it has no info as to what chain was supplied with bike.

Thanks for the info, I will see if I can find an original chain somewhere.
