'71 Raleigh Sports brake pads & saddle

Are there new brake pads available to fit in the org. holders ? Also, My bike has a vinyl mattress seat, pretty comfy . Is there new parts available ( springs ) , etc. to rebuild these ? I see new saddles for sale that look close,.. but my saddle has springs under from front to back. Not quite ready to spend 160 for a B66

Thanks , Dave

Kool stop pads! Look for a B66 on eBay. You should be able to get one for less than $160.

I have been emailing 'Cool Stop ' about salmon pads to fit original holders on the old '71 Raleigh Sports , I sent pics and approx. size of my holders/pads, here is the reply..

"This pad should fit but the length is only 1.577

The good news is that we mold them in sticks and cut them to length so the next time we run them we can sell you a whole stick and you can cut to your length. Do you want black or salmon compound? "

just in case anyone is interested

Don't know if its much of a bargain , but make your own length

"one stick is a little over 9 inches

un cut sticks are $25 each. Do you want black or salmon or a stick of each? "

Dave - I just priced KoolStop Campy inserts on Amazon, 4 for $22.24.
That equates to $66.72 for 12, at Amazon pricing, provided you can take advantage of their free shipping.

If your individual lengths are 1.577 and the stick ("slightly") over 9", you ought to get 6 pc's per stick or just $50 for 12. - A savings of $16.72 on three bikes. Then you can get another kind of 12-pack with your savings!

I just buy the Kool Stop Continentals and don't bother with the holders.
