1988 Rockhopper Comp DiNucci Green With No Decals?
Quick question. Did that bike come with the option of no decals? I'm going to look at one tomorrow & just noticed, looking at the ad, that there doesn't appear to be any logos on this bike. I'll ask the owner tomorrow. It's his wife's bike and she's the original owner. It's 17.5" with 21" top tube so maybe it will be a good fit.
Looks to be all original, except saddle. Here's the ad:

Thanks Oddjob2. So if it is a repainting I wonder why? Maybe it's not a Rockhopper, although it has what appears to be all the correct components. I will definitely ask though. I saw another one online without decals & same color.

Mountain bike, 25+ years old, not surprised that it's been re-painted, I've had 3 bikes which were all around 15 years old re-painted (powdered) as time takes it's toll on the paint work. Add to that, it's an MTB, if ridden as an MTB, the idea that it has stock parts after a few months, let alone 25 years is un-realistic, stuff wears out, and gets broken in use.

Compared to my Rockhopper, I'd be 99% sure what you have there is a Rockhopper. The seatstay bridge rear fender mount eyelet is the giveaway. The droputs, fork, and frame construction all match up, too. Repainted, but certainly looks ok and like a good deal from here.

This is what I thought as I looked at the pics.
