Durability of repro labels on wheels?

I'm considering replacing the decals that are currently on the wheels on my Fuji, a mismatched set of MA40s from two different eras, with some reproduction labels. Can anyone comment on how durable reproduction labels might be for a daily rider? Are the repro labels that are out there better suited for show bikes, or could I reasonably expect them to hold up to regular use?

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't one of those "...they work great, as long as you don't get your bike wet..." sorts of things.

If installed correctly on a clean, wax free and oil free surface they should be fine, maybe even better than the originals due to improvements in adhesives.

+`1 on Kactus above.

Decal quality is better these days. Mavics had pretty good decals to begin with, but the new ones are pretty nice. I've "upgraded" decals on Cosmic Elites, and Ksyriums, and the new ones were tough, durable, and once put on, stayed on.

The original stickers on my Super champion 36 hole rims overlapped the eyelets and that caused the ends to lift over time. Velocals made me a custom slightly undersized set that fit better and charged me five bucks. I'm sure that the quality of the sticker and the adhesive is much better than the originals. I'm a fan, even if he's slow to answer Emails.

Velocals but also Greg at Cyclomondo, both on eBay and through his own website in OZ.

CYCLOMONDO - BICYCLE RESTORATION DECALS

Greg is a bike collector and has a wonderful bunch of classic bikes. I've been working with him for 5-6 years. He's fast and easy to deal with.

Why not simply remove the decals? That way you don't need to worry about the two not matching each other. I know that I used to remove all rim decals back in teh day, replacing them with a national flag decal that allowed me t recognize my wheels immediately when racing (ie after a wheel change in a race)

Steve,

Back in the day we used to use Chiquita Banana stickers on our rims!

Also, we wrote our names on the sidewalls of our sewups - just in case...

I might do just that in the interim, but I find myself actively wanting a little bit more "bling" on this bike. It's fairly aesthetically Spartan at the moment.
