You describe the flat locations as "(sometimes on inner sometimes on outer side tube)"

Can you give details on these:

Are the holes for each in the same spots? The inner is always in one spot, the outer is always in one spot?

What, exactly, do the holes look like and size? Describe or provide pictures.

Install the tire with your thumbs rather than using tire tools or (gasp!) a screwdriver to pry it onto the rim. The business end of a prying tool can easily pinch the tube against the rim as it goes over center.

I read that you use Velox cloth tape, but for info to others: plastic rim strips can develop cracks which can nibble tiny holes in the tube.

I weigh 260 and ride on 23 rims with 25 rubber (Conti 400 s ) and I might only flat once every 5000 miles. Once a summer. I do have nice places to ride with good surfaces and not much glass and goat heads

Did we take an off-ramp the the 41 here?

Seriously though, I can't wait to see what the root cause is.

Indeed. Something is causing those flats, even if it's just that the tubes are defective. You have to find that cause before you can prevent it from acting again.

I have the same issue on the front. Having a few extra bikes, I just put that one away for awhile. It's been sitting now, with a flat on the front, for a couple months. One of these days...

I'm 210 & ride 23s & 25s. No long ago I had a tire that I'd top off & a day or so later would be flat, l'd dunk it in water, nothing. Put back in flat the next day. It was a Conti. The valve was loose. Screwed down tight & its been fine ever since.

I weigh a fair bit over 200 lb. I also used to get flats in the rear tire all the time. Most were in the tread, some were more sidewall-ish but none were true pinch flats. I have ended that completely through my use of a 28 mm rear tire inflated to full (proper) pressure.

I still use a 25 mm front tire. You might be able to get away with a 25 mm rear tire, if you religiously keep it fully inflated, but I wouldn't count on it.

I love the look of the skinny tires but flats are a real drag. Nothing slows you down more than a flat.

Give up on the vanity of skinny tires and go a tiny bit bigger in the rear. Get a good floor-standing pump with a built-in gage and use it.

For me, flats are now a thing of the past.

As for checking the inside of the tire for a small wire or whatever causing repeated flats, use a cotton ball of a piece of discarded ladies nylons, the cotton ball or the nylons will snag in the protrusion and not your precious finger skin.
