This was in my back yard, Waltham, MA. My sweetie snapped this while I was replacing a broken derailleur cable. I was just having a grand old time.

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

This summer, out at Lake Crescent. Pretty much a perfect evening: get off work, ride 20 miles out to the lake and find my sister and her family making Mexican food and pouring Margaritas. Grandis and Margarita on the dock.

Hey Jim, I'm assuming Sharon prefers those stoker bars over standard drop bars. Can you elaborate on that?

Tim, I'm disappointed that your Grandis wasn't there when I made the trip over. Would've liked to see it.

If it wasn't so busy at work I would have gone home and got it. Next time, I guess? Or you could have joined us on the group ride we did through your back yard last June; it was there all day

During the summer I took these shots. Just outside my house in Porsgrunn, Norway, having an after ride beer.
There's nothing like an after ride beer.

My sweetie/stoker doesn't like having as much weight on her arms nor being stretched out so much as drop bars would produce. She's only 5'2" or a bit less and the rear of that frame is about as big as she can fit. BTW, that is a nice alloy bar I got from noglider. It is similar to the original which was steel, but perhaps a bit narrower and with a nice hand angle. This year I added Cane Creek mtb handles. She really like the option of palms facing inward and often rides with one hand flat and one vertical on the end, switching whenever she wishes.

John I'm still trying to figure out where that is. Your post ride drink looks enticing.

Well I wanted to play this one, and I've ridden my bike all over the place either in order to try some new coffee place, or go to my favorite place in Industrial SE Portland (yeah Water Avenue Coffee). Anyway I have photos of my bike as well as photos of my drink, but not together! I doubt the shops would allow me to bring my bike inside. Oh well.

Here's a coffee drink in NW Portland with someone's bike in the background.

Here's one of my bikes (for sale) on my journey to Portland and the eventual reward. Water Avenue Coffee. They roast their beans right there on site and they have a barista school associated with them next door.

That's at Fresh Pot on Mississippi. Most coffee shops don't object when I wheel my bike in after an early morning roadie ride. Their shops aren't crowded at that hour (8:30 am for that pic), and maybe they realize a guy in lycra tights isn't carrying a U-lock so it is either let me bring the bike or forgo my money. I don't usually try to bring in my bike when I have a U-lock with me, or whent he coffee shops are crowded.

jyl - this is the second time in as many days that I've read about Fresh Pot. UrbanAdventureLeague just had a post about them, or at least recently. I've never been, although do like the Mississippi Food Cart Pods. :0

jimmuller, I don't remember the handlebar, but I'm glad it's being put to good use.

And, ahem, that wrench doesn't seem like it would help change a derailleur cable. Are you putting us on?

It's become very popular to brew your own beer here in Norway, so a lot of micro breweries has popped up. My missus brought me this bottle of "Ny Ork", form a local market, and is from one such local micro brewer.
It's actually some sort of wordplay as "ny ork" is how we pronounce New York in our language, but it actually means something like new energy though.
What your question really was about though, the taste, was ordinary...

I believe it came from you. But I could be wrong.

I need to learn how to do the "mention" thing.

No, that's what it looks like but it isn't so. That's a French bike so I needed something to butter the croissant.

jimmuller, just put an @-sign in front of the user's name and be sure to spell it right.

EBH, it did look like New York, but I'm glad to know what it means and that it is a pun. I had suspected so.
