VAR tools crank puller

I was searching for a reasonably priced double sided crank puller (22mm and 23mm like the old Park Tool CCCP-1, which they seem to no longer make) and came across this one. Has anyone used this product? It retails for $22.

22 and 23mm crank extractor PE-39300

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Never used it (I have the double-ended Park tool), but it looks decent. VAR is a reputable tool maker with a long history. $22 is a decent price, considering what other aftermarket obscure crank extractors cost.

Don't try to use it on a Stronglight.

The older Stronglights are 23.3 or something right? When did they make the switch? I have a TA (1983ish) and a Stronglight (1986) that I need to pull. Had Stronglight standardized their sizing by then?

That Stronglight should be a 22 (standard Campy Shimano size). Try a regular dust cap, if the cap drops in its 23.35, if it threads in it's 22.2.

Stronglight switched to standard 22mm in 1982.

I Love VAR tools. I wish I could afford a complete set.
