What is this?
Happy Sunday!
I've always wondered what this is, can anyone help?
It's on my 90s Pinarello Asolo Colombus Cromor steel frame which has internal routing on the top tube. This 'nub' is on the inside of the headtube about half way down. Is it for a pump? But if so surely the top tube length is too long? Any ideas?
Merry Christmas.

Yeah, that's a pump peg. Made for a full size frame pump, like olde Silca frame pumps. Zefal hpx comes in 4 sizes to fit various frames, spring loaded to fit a range. Couple of other modern choices still available, also.

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.
Looks like a misplaced chain hanger. Maybe the frame builder saw he had run out of standard pump pegs and said, "Eh, what the heck. They're both a bout the same size."

That's my impression as well. Just about anything can work as a pump peg; Dave Tesch used to use old ball bearings for pump pegs.

that's some new-fangled invention as a work-around for standard pump placement once the weaklings started riding who needed more than 1 water bottle.

Thanks! I thought it might be that but like you said, never seen one that looked like a chain hanger!
