Andy Gilmour frame
I have the opportunity to buy an Andy Gilmour frame and am interested in getting some information on it. The paint is rough and has been sanded down in rusty spots. It comes with Campy aero levers, a Mavic tt bar and ttt stem. Can anyone put a rough value on this frame?

Looks like a low-pro "funny bike" made for time trial riding. Probably takes a 700c rear wheel and 650c front, but hopefully the seller can tell you for sure what wheel sizes are required - or failing that, Gilmour is still making frames and could probably say: Gilmour Bicycles.
So what's a rough condition, low-pro frame worth? Even knowing that it was custom built by a particular framebuilder, I don't think it has much cash value unless there's some kind of sentimental value to go along with it. Half the value here is in the stem, bars, and levers. If I had to put a number on it, $100?

I don't have a dog in this race, but Andy is one of the BEST frame builders in the US, this frame (being a time trials item) may be a limited market but I don't think $100 is even a quarter what it's worth.

Bikes: too many sparkly Italians, some sweet Americans and a couple interesting Japanese
Agree with what you said, Andy is excellent, but condition (not great in this case), time of year (might be good in AL) and the local markets are important. Even in Andy's home town it would be hard to get anywhere near 400. That said, even 400 would be a steal for someone needing that size/type frame, Andy would get it in New condition for 400 and you would have a excellent frame at a fraction of new frame cost.

^ all very good points and I was swept up in nostalgia when i wrote that cause a friend of mine once rode a Gilmour and was smitten with that bike and thus a huge fan of Andy, True that this TT frame is going to be harder to sell (despite the brief fad of hipsters seeking these for the ultimate fixie fashion statement) and that paint is very badly chipped up in spots...so just "drew it" and rattle-can it flat black!
